Question no – (1) 

Answer : 

(a) Rubber made by vulcanization is a artificial and hard material.

(b) Man made materials are made by processing natural materials

(c) Nylon thread was developed simultaneously in New York and London.

(d)  Rayon is also known as Synthetic silk.

Question no – (2) 

Answer : 

(a) Man needs are very much and the forms are of their needs also vary from each other therefore man discovered new things according to their need. Man used natural thing for making new things which are comfortable and easy for using. Therefore, man made very artificial things according to their need and comfort.

(b) Natural material obtained from plants are cotton, wood, flowers, fruits, teak, food etc

Natural material obtained from animals are silk, lac, pearl, leather, wool etc.

(c) Vulcanization is the chemical process in which the rubber is heated with the sulphur for three to four hours and rubber is formed.

(d) Cotton, jute, wool and silk are the natural material are used to obtained fibers.

Question no – (4) 

Answer : 

  • Manufacturing of Paper : 

For paper making first we need tree then bark from the logs of these trees are removed. The wood is broken into small pieces then in the factory it is mixed with certain chemicals and socked from a sometime this form pulp. After forming this dyes are mixed with the pulp then pressing the pulp with rollers then paper is ready winding the paper on reels this is the manufacturing method for paper.

Question no – (5) 

Answer : 

(a) We must use cotton clothes in summer : 

Cotton clothes are very comfortable during summer season because they are made from natural fibers and absorb sweat. We feel comfortable with cotton clothes therefore it is use during summer seasons.

(b) We must observe economy in the use of materials : 

Paper is obtained from tree. For this more numbers of tress can cut, the rate of deforestation is increased, decreasing the number of trees are harmful to environment and it is also harmful to our self therefore saving paper is the need of the hour.

(d) Man-made materials have more demand : 

Man made material is easy to use and available in large amount. The natural material are use only for something so sometimes but using this natural material man made some other material according to their need and which are very useful therefore man-made materials have over demand over natural material.

(e) Humus is a natural material : 

Humans are the living things and living things are made from nature therefore humans is a natural material.

Question no – (6) 

Answer : 

(1) The process of obtained lac from nature as follows :

lac is a secretary material obtained from the lac insects. From the female lac insects secretion of a substance is come out and when it is contact with air it forms sailfish and which is called lac.

(2) Pearls are formed inside the shell of bivalve marine animals. and we extract pearls from there.
