Work and Energy Exercise question Solutions :

Question no – (1) 

Answer :  

(a) A bucketful of water is to be drawn from a well. Work will be done when a force is applied to do this, because there will be a displacement of water.

(b) If a ball is dropped on the slopping roof of a house it acquires Motion and falls on he ground that is transformation Potential energy into Kinetic energy takes place.

(c) You might have seen some beautiful fireworks, during Diwali It is an examples of transformation of chemical energy into light energy.

(d) The solar cooker is an application of the Heat energy of the sun while solar cells , solar lamps are applications of Light energy of the sun.

(e) one laborer carried four pans of road metal through a distance of 100 meters .If he carries two pans of road metal through a 200 meter distance Equal work will be done.

(f) The capacity that an object has for doing work is called Energy. 

Question no – (3) 

Answer :  

(a) When the position of an object changes from one place to another place then displacement has taken place.

(b) For measuring work we should take force and displacement.

(c) There are different forms of energy like kinetic energy, mechanical energy, light energy, potential energy, heat energy, chemical energy, electrical energy.

(d) Solar energy → chemical energy → (1) Muscular energy (2) heat energy

(f) The energy resources do not produced smoke and carbon dioxide are called green energy resources and the energy is produced from them is known as green energy.

(g) The energy sources which are not use from previously or traditionally are known as non-conventional energy resources. For example – solar energy ,tidal energy, atomic energy this are the non-conventional sources of energy.

(h) The energy which is obtained from sun we use in the form of solar energy. solar energy is used in the solar cooker, solar heater and solar dryer. Solar energy is also used in the solar lamps, solar cells etc.

(i) As we known the non- conventional resources of energy are renewable resources. They are continuously available and other energy resources like non-renewable energy resources are fuel ,fossil fuels are getting fast burning they also create pollution and problems to environment and its affect on temperature , nature and environment. Therefore for saving our earth and environment we should use of non-conventional energy resources.
