A female fish lays eggs in water, the male fish also releases thousands of sperms into the water. These sperms then move randomly inside water making its way to the female eggs. This result in the fertilization of the female eggs which grows and develops into new ones. Since this whole process takes place outside the fishes body we can say that is an external form of reproduction.
