Question no – (1) 

Answer :  

(a) Archaeological evidence shows that, agriculture first began about 11,000 years ago in Israel and Iraq.

(b) The houses at the beginning of the New Stone Age were made of wattle and daub.

Question no – (2) 

Answer :  

(a) Three main steps in the process of domesticating a wild animal are

  • The first step is to capture the wild animals.
  • The second step is to tame the wild animals by providing them the requisite training to live with humans .
  • The third step is to obtain useful materials like milk etc from these captured animals and providing them training to work as beasts of burden for the humans.

(b) When food’s availability exceeded the needs of the community, some men and women utilized their free time in experimentation and also used their natural creative abilities to develop special skills. Persons who acquired such special skills were given the opportunity to work based on those skills. So in this way, some people in the community became skilled craftsmen.

Question no – (4) 

Answer :  

The usefulness of five domesticated animals are as follows :

Dog :-  Dog protects our house by serving as a watch guard. Dog alerts us of dangerous situations and barks at strangers.

Pig :- Pig provides a variety of useful products to human beings such as leather, gelatin, glue and different types of medicines.

Cow :- Cow gives us milk and milk products which is essential for proper development of our body.

Goat :- Goat gives us milk which is used for making cheese and yogurt and they also provide fiber which is essential for making hats and sweaters.

Buffalo :- Buffalo are primarily used for obtaining milk, as it has rich source of calcium and mineral content than the cow’s milk.

Question no – (5) 

Answer : 

The animal used by modern police are dogs. Dogs are used by the modern police for investigating the crime cases, as dogs possesses the ability to sniff the body odour and blood marks on the clothes. It guides the police to the criminal who has committed the terrible offence.
