3 × 3 × 7 = 63

2/3 × 63 = 42

7/9 × 63 = 49

3/7 × 63 = 27

So, 7/9 > 2/3 > 3/7

(b) 2/3, 5/7, 2/5

3 × 7 × 5 = 105

2/3 × 105 = 70

5/7 × 105 = 75

2/5 × 105 = 42

5/7 > 2/3 > 2/5

1/2 × 20 = 10

4/5 × 20 = 16

So, 4/5 > 3/4 > 1/2

(d) 1/3, 1/10, 1/5

5 × 3 × 2 = 30

1/3 × 30 = 10

1/10 × 30 = 3

1/5 × 30 = 6

So, 1/3 > 1/5 > 1/10

(e) 1/6, 1/8, 1/9

1/6 > 1/8 > 1/9

(f) 1/7, 2/21, 2/3

1/7 × 21 = 3

2/21 × 21 = 2

2/3 × 21 = 14

So, 2/3 > 1/7 > 2/21

(g) 2/3, 4/5, 7/9

3 × 5 × 3 = 45

2/3 × 45 = 30

4/5 × 45 = 36

7/9 × 45 = 35

So, 4/5 > 7/9 > 2/3

= 3 – 5/2

= 6 – 5/2

= 1/2

(d) 13/4 – 9/5

= 65 – 36/20

= 29/20

(e) 3/5 – 1/2

= 6 – 5/10

= 1/10

(f) 5/2 – 11/9

= 45 – 22/18

= 23/18

Question no – (3)

Solution :

(a) Distance by bus = 3/5

Distance by auto = 1/4

Total Distance covered

3/5 + 1/4

= 12 + 5/20

= 17/20

(b) Work on Monday 3/7

Work on Tuesday 2/5

Total work = 3/7 + 2/5

= 15 + 14/35

= 29/35

(c) Suchi’s bookshelf = 3/4

Shobit’s bookshelf = 3/5

3/4 – 3/5

= 15 – 12/20

= 3/20

So, Suchi’s bookshelf is more full by 3/20

(d) Sheeba had 2 3/4 = 11/4 m
