Answer :
The grains should be dried in the sunlight. The harsh sunlight inhibits the growth of eggs and worms in the grain. The grains should be stored in cool and dry place. In such storage places, the chances of insect infestations are quite less. The most natural remedial ways to remove insects from the grains are available right at home. Cloves and Neem leaves are some of the household items that can be used to get rid of the insects from the grains.

(a) Food Chain :
A food chain refers to a sequence of different organisms that are dependent on one another for the purpose of food. Thus, they are linked with one another just like a chain. This linkage can be termed as food chain. Food chain are the primary part of any ecological system, linking with each other in order to form the food webs that depicts the interaction of life on the planet Earth. A food chain portrays the ways in which one organism eat another organism and transmits it’s energy.
As for example : a deer eats grass and in turn the deer is eaten by the lion. The grass, deer and lion constitute a food chain.
(b) Balance of environment :
The food chain and food webs are present in almost every environment. It is because of this food chain, every living things gets the required food and thereby continues to survive. Micro-organisms plays an essential role in the process of decomposing dead and decaying waste of plants and animals and converting them into simple substances that are used again by other plants for their growth. In nature, there are different kinds of cycles. Oxygen cycle is one such example. Oxygen is required by all living beings for breathing, which is essential for their survival and they exhale carbon dioxide. Plants uses this carbon dioxide for preparing food and returns oxygen to the atmosphere. As a result of which, there are different kinds of cycles such as oxygen cycle, water cycle, nitrogen cycle and carbon cycle. When these various cycles proceeds in a continuous manner, the balance of the environment are maintained.

Water, minerals and other nutrients that are present in the soil such as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium etc, are required by the plants for their growth. The simple substances that are formed by the decomposition process of dead and decaying organisms are essential for the expeditious growth of the plants.
