Question no – (1) 

Answer :  

(a) A small multistoried house which is composed of bricks, cement, stone and roof titles would be appropriate in a mountainous region. The reason for selecting that house is that, the amount of rainfall and the speed of wind is fairly high in a mountainous region. So, the houses which are composed of mud, clay, sticks etc would be unsuitable in such region. For that reason, houses which are comprised of bricks, cement, stones and roof titles would be appropriate. There are also less availability of plain land surface in a mountainous regions.

(b) The correct option is – (c)

For building a multistoried house, we will mainly use iron/cement/mortar/bricks.

(a) The eco-friendly things in my house are :

  • LED light bulbs are used in my house which proves to be an effective way to help the environment.
  • We use solar heater to heat the water.
  • In summer season, we use earthen pot in order to store the water and retain it’s coolness.
  • There are spacious windows in my house which helps to bring in the natural rays of light.

(b) The gadgets in house that can be run on solar energy are – 

Solar bulb, solar water heater, solar cooker and solar fan are the following gadgets in the house that can be run on solar energy.

Answer :  

The types of pollution that can observed at a construction site are :

  • Air pollution :

Air pollution refers to the emission of toxic and harmful pollutants that has an adverse effect on the human health.

  • Soil pollution’s :

Soil pollution’s defined as the presence of excessive concentrations of toxic chemicals or pollutants in the soil which poses a threat to the human health or environment as a whole.

  • Water pollution :

Water pollution occurs when toxic chemicals penetrate into the water bodies and dissolves in them, thus deteriorating the quality of water. This is usually the consequences of human actions in such a manner that brings about a negative effect on it’s authentic uses.

  • Noise pollution :

Noise pollution refers to any undesirable sound or disturbances that poses interventions or brings about a harmful effect on human or wild life. Though, noise surrounds us continuously, but noise pollution usually get’s less importance when compared to water pollution and air pollution because it can neither be tasted nor it can be seen.
