Construction of Quadrilaterals Exercise 12.1 Solution :

Question no – (1) 

Solution : 

A quadrilateral PQRS with,

PQ = 5.2 cm,

QR = 2.3 cm,

RS = 4.4 cm,

SP = 6.2 cm

PR = 7 cm.

Measurements figure :


Quadrilateral PQRS :


Therefore, PQRS is required Quadrilateral.

Question no – (2) 

Solution : 

A quadrilateral ABCD with,

AB = 3 cm,

BC = 5.3 cm,

CD = 4 cm,

AD = 4.7 cm

BD = 6 cm.

Measurements figure :


Quadrilateral ABCD :


Therefore, ABCD is required quadrilateral.

Question no – (3) 

Solution :  

A quadrilateral ABCD with,

AB = 5.2 cm,

BC = 3.3 cm,

AD = 4.2 cm,

AC = 6.5 cm

BD = 4.8 cm.


Quadrilateral ABCD :

Therefore, ABCD is required Quadrilateral.

Question no – (4) 

Solution :  

A quadrilateral MNOP with,

MN = 3.2 cm,

NO = 4.2 cm,

MP = 5.3 cm,

MO = 5.2 cm

NP = 6.1 cm.


Quadrilateral MNOP,


Therefore, MNOP is required Quadrilateral.

Solution :  

A quadrilateral PQRS with

PQ = 4.3 cm,

QR = 3.5 cm,

RS = 4.5 cm,

PS = 3 cm

ZQ = 75°


Quadrilateral PQRS,

Therefore, PQRS is required Quadrilateral.

Solution : 

A quadrilateral MNOP with,

MN = 4 cm

NO = 5 cm

∠M = 60°,

∠N = 135°

∠O = 90°

Solution : 

A quadrilateral ROFL with,

RO = 7 cm,

OF = 4 cm,

RL = 5 cm,

∠R = 45° and

∠O = 60°


Quadrilateral ROFL :


Therefore, ROFL is re4quired Quadrilateral.

Construction of Quadrilaterals Exercise 12.2 Solution :

Question no – (1) 

Solution : 

A parallelogram MNOP with,

MN = 4 cm

NO = 3 cm

MO = 6 cm.

Parallelogram MNOP,

Question no – (2) 

Solution : 

A parallelogram with adjacent sides of,

length 5.3 cm and 6.4 cm

diagonal of length 7.9 cm.


Required parallelogram :

Thus, ABCD is required parallelogram.

Question no – (4) 

Solution : 

A parallelogram with adjacent sides of,

length 6 cm and 3 cm

And the angle between them of measure 60°.

Required parallelogram, 


Hence, PQRS is required parallelogram and ∠P = 120°

Question no – (5) 

Solution : 

A rectangle ABCD with,

Sides of length 5 cm and 2.5 cm.

Required rectangle,

Therefore, ABCD is required triangle whose sides are 2.5 cm and 5 cm.

Question no – (6)

Solution : 

A square of side 5 cm,

Required Square,

Thus, ABCD is required square whose side is 5 cm.
