= seventy two thousand one hundred thirty five

= Thirty two lakhs fifty four thousand four hundred seventy nine

= Seven Arab ninety two crores thirty five lakhs forty one thousand one hundred seventy nine.

Solution :

Place value of 3’s

= 300000 and 30

difference,

= 300000 – 30

= 299970

Question no – (5)

Solution :

Place value is

= 600,

face value is,

= 6

Difference,

= 600 – 6

= 594

(i) 4 digit number are there,

= 9999 – 999

= 9000

Thus, there are 9000, 4 digit number in all.

(ii) 5 digit number are there,

= 99999 – 9999

So, there are 90000 five-digit number in all.

(i) Given, 7 × 1000 + 4 × 100 + 2 × 10 + 7 × 1

Corresponding numbers = 7427

(ii) Given, 9 × 10000 + 6 × 1000+ 3 × 100 + 7 × 10 + 9 × 1

Corresponding numbers = 96379

(iii) Given, 8 × 100000 + 7 × 10000 + 6 × 1000 + 5 × 100+ 4 × 10+ 3 × 1

Corresponding numbers = 876543

(iv) 9 × 1000000 + 6 × 100000 + 2 × 100 + 5 × 10 + 9 × 1

Corresponding numbers = 9600259

Reversing 983 we get,

= 389

The difference will be,

= 983 – 389

= 594
