Answer : 

Warning issued by Shivaji Maharaj :

  • Shivaji Maharaj established the council to ensure the smooth management of the affairs of swaraj and to ensure peoples welfare.
  • To protect west coast from Portuguese, Siddi, British and curb their activities Shivaji Maharaja raised a navy.

(2) How do we know that the religious policy of Shivaji Maharaj was that of tolerance ?

Answer : 

Maharaj followed a tolerant religious policy. In the enemy territories that he conquered, he continued the facilities that had been given to the Muslim places of worship. He strictly ruled that during campaigns they should not harm a mosque.
