= -5/7 + 3/7
= 5 + 3/7

= -15 + 7/4

Question no – (1)
Solution :
(i) 3/8, 5/8
= 5/8 – 3/8
= 5 – 3/8
= 2/8
= 1/4
(ii) -7/9, 4/9
= 4/9 + 7/9
= 4 + 7/9
= 11/9
(iii) -2/11, -9/11
= -9/11 + 2/11
= 9 + 2/11
= -7/11
(iv) 11/13, -4/13
= -4/13 – 11/13
= -4 – 11/13
= -15/13

Solution :
(i) In the given question, 2/3 – 3/5
∴ 2/3 – 3/5
= 10 – 9/15
= 1/15
(ii) From question we get, 4/7 – 2/-3
∴ 4/7 – 2/-3
= -4/7 + 2/3
= -12 + 14/21
= 2/21
(iii) In the question, (4/7) – (-5/- 7)
