Practice Set 30 : 

Question no – (1) 

Solution : 

Suppose, a be the percentage of Shabana scored 736 marks out of 800 in her exams

Thus, (A/100 ) × 100

= (736/800) × 100

A = 736/8

A = 92

Hence, 92 percentage of Shabana scored 736 marks out of 800 in her exams.

Question no – (2) 

Solution : 

Since, Out of these 350 of them student can swim

Thus, 500 – 350

= 150 cannot swim.

Let A and B percent students can swim and cannot swim respectively.

Therefore, (A/100) × 100

= (350/500) × 100

A = 350/5 = 70

And (B/100) × 100

= (150/500) × 100

B = 150/5

B = 30

Therefore, 70 and 30 percent students can swim and cannot swim respectively.

Question no – (3) 

Solution : 

As per the question,

Prakash sowed jowar on 75% of the 19500 sq m of his land.

Suppose, A sq m did he actually plant jowar.

Thus, A/19500 = 75/100

= (A/19500) × 19500

= (75/100) × 19500

= A = 75 × 195

A = 14,625

Hence, Prakash actually 14625 sq. m land plant jowar.

Question no – (5) 

Solution : 

According to the question,

5675 people in a village 5448 are literate.

Let A% of literacy in the village

Thus, (A/100) × 100

= (5448/5675) × 100

A = 544800/5675

A = 96

Therefore, 96% of literacy in the village.
