= 84 + 182/91

= 276/91

= 38/13

**(b) 4 4/5 + 16/11**

= 24/5 + 16/11

= 164 + 80/55

= 344/55

**(c) 11/4 – 1/8**

= 22 – 1/8

= 21/8

**(d) 2 2/7 – 23/21**

= 16/7 – 23/21

= 48 – 23/21

= 25/21

**Question no – (3)**

**Solution :**

**Need to added,**

= 7 3/7 – 5 1/5

= 52/7 – 26/5

= 260 – 182/35

= 78/35

**Question no – (4)**

**Solution :**

= Third side = 6 2/3 – (2 1/2 + 3 1/3)

= 20/3 – (5/2 + 10/3)

= 20/3 – (15 + 20/6)

= 20/3 – 35/6

= 40 – 35/6

= 5/6 cm

Therefore, The length of the third side is **5/6 cm.**

**Fractions Exercise 2.2 Solution :**

**Question no – (2) **

= 4/7 × 13/16

= 13/28

**(e) 9/11 of 22/3**

= 9/11 × 22/3

= 6

**(f) 13/17 of 1 2/15**

= 13/17 × 1 2/15

= 13/17 × 17/15

= 13/17

**Question no – (3)**

**Solution :**

**(a) 4 3/4 × 7**

= 19/4 × 7

= 35/3

**(c) 10 × 2 2/9**

= 10 × 20/9

= 200/9

**(d) 1/3 × 2 2/5**

= 1/3 × 12/5

= 4/5

**(e) 1/5 × 3 4/7**

= 1/5 × 25/7

= 5/7

**(f) 9 3/8 × 3 4/5**

= 75/8 × 19/5

= 285/8

**Question no – (4)**

**Solution :**

**As per the question,**

4 1/5 × 1 3/7

= 21/5 × 21/7

= 441/35 m^{2}

Therefore, the area of the rectangular field is **441/35 m**^{2}

**Question no – (5)**

**Solution :**

Number of student play cricket

= 2/5 × 45

= 18

= Number of the student play football

= 1/3 × 45

= 15

**∴ **Rest play tennis

= 45 – (18 + 15)

= 45 – 33

= 12

**∴** Fraction,

= 12/45

= 4/15

**(a)** 18 students play cricket

**(b)** 15 students play football

**(c)** 4/15 of the total no of student play tennis

**Question no – (7)**

**Solution :**

According to the question,

In 1 hour vehicle can cover

= 70 3/4 km

= 283/4 km

In 2 2/5 = 12/5 hour vehicle can cover

= 283/4 × 12/5

= 849/5

= 169.8 km

Therefore, 169.8 km distance will it cover in 2 2/5 hours.
