= 55/48

= 1 7/48

**(c) 1 4/15 + 1 3/20**

= 19/15 + 29/20

= 76 + 69/60

= 145/60

= 2 25/60

= 2 5/12

**(d) 3 1/3 + 4 1/4**

= 10/3 + 17/4

= 40 + 51/12

= 91/12

7 7/12

**Question no – (2) **

**Solution : **

**(a) 4 3/7 – 2 4/7**

= 31/7 – 18/7

= 31 – 18/7

= 13/7

= 1 6/7

**(b) 1/2 – 3/8**

= 4 – 3/8

= 1/8

**(c) 2 3/10 – 1 7/15**

= 23/10 – 22/15

= 25/30

= 5/6

**(d) 10 – 6 3/8**

= 10 21/8

= 80 – 21/8

= 59/8

= 7 3/8

**Question no – (3) **

**Solution : **

**(a) 4/8 × 18**

= 9

**(b) 3 × 3 1/5**

= 3 × 16/5

= 48/5

= 9 3/5

**(c) 2 5/15 × 5/10**

= 35/15 × 5/10

= 7/6

= 1 1/6

**(d) 6/10 × 1 2/100**

= 6/10 × 102/100

= 15/250

**Question no – (4) **

**Solution : **

**(a) 45 ÷ 5/9**

= 45 ÷ 9/5

= 81

**(b) 5/20 ÷ 12/5**

= 5/20 × 5/12

= 5/48

**(c) 1 6/15 ÷ 7/30**

= 21/15 × 30/7

= 6

**(d) 18/10 ÷ 9/10**

= 18/10 × 10/9

= 2

**Fractions Exercise 3.3 Solution :**

**Question no – (1)**

**Solution : **

Total Wheat Sell **:**

= (7 1/2 + 9 1/2 + 5 1/5 + 25 1/5)

= 46 + (1/2 + 1/2 + 1/5 + 1/5)

= 46 + (5 + 5 2 +2/10 )

= 46 + 14/10

= 47 4/10

= 47 2/5

**Now,** total Wheat left,

= (100 1/2 – 47/ 2/5)

= (100 – 47) + (1/2 – 2/5)

= 53 + (5-4/10)

= 53 1/10 kg

**∴** 53 1/10 kg of wheat is left in the sack.

**Question no – (2)**

**Solution : **

As per the given question,

Cost of 1 litre milk is = Rs 35.50

Now, lets find the cost of 15 1/2 litre milk,

= (35.50 × 15 /12)

= 3500/100 × 31/2

= 550.25 Rs

So, the cost of 15 1/2 litre milk will be Rs 550.25

= 18 problems.

**Question no – (4)**

**Solution : **

Number of small cable pieces,

= 11 1/5 ÷ 1 2/5

= 56/5 ÷ 75

= 56/5 × 5/7

= 8 pieces.

Therefore, number small cable pieces will be 8 pieces.

**Question no – (5)**

**Solution : **

Total weigh,

= (15 1/2 × 3/4)

= 31/2 × 3/4

= 93/8

= 11 5/8 kg.

So, total weigh of box8 kg.

**Question no – (6)**

**Solution : **
