Introduction to Algebra Exercise 10.1 Solution :

Question no – (1)

Solution : 

(a) 5 – 6x

Variable = x

Constant = 5

(b) 2 + m

Variable = m

Constant = 2

(c) 3p + 10

Variable = p,

Constant = 10

(d) 56 l

Variable = l,

Constant = 56

(e) 39b + 7

Variable = b

Constant = 39, 7

Question no – (2) 

Solution : 

(a) Number of minute in an hour

= Number of minutes in a hour is = 60

It is a Constant.

(b) Number of days in a month

= Number of days in different in different month

Therefore it is a variable.

(c) Number of colours in the rainbow.

= Number of colours in the rainbow = 7

Hence, It is a constant.

(d) Number of letters in the English alphabet

= Number of letters in English elephant is = 26

Therefore, It is a constant.

Introduction to Algebra Exercise 10.2 Solution :

Question no – (1) 

Solution : 

(a) The next term is 12

The nth term is 2n

(b) The next term is

The nth term is 1 + 2n

Solution : 

(a) The are 36 eggs in a tray. How will you Write the total number of eggs in terms of the number of trays?

Rule using variable :

Let, n is the total number of trays.

Therefore total number of eggs is 36 n

(b) A cheetah can run 29 metres per second. Express the distance covered by the cheetah in terms of its running time in seconds.

Rule using variable :

Let, the cheetah running is t seconds.

Distance covered by cheetah = 29t m

(c) The cost of one laddu is ₹12. What will be the cost of n laddus?

Rule using variable :

= Cost of n laddu’s is 12 n

Introduction to Algebra Exercise 10.3 Solution :

Solve the following questions

Question no – (1) 

Solution : 

Perimeter of the heptagon is,

= p (I + I + I + I + I + I + I)

= 7I

Question no – (2) 

Solution : 

Area of square whose side is,

= a = s × s

= s2

Question no – (3) 

Solution : 

Perimeter of the isosceles triangle is

= k + k + I

= 2k + I
