Part I : Mr Wilson’s Story

Question no – (1) 

Answer : 

  • Mr. Sherlock Holmes :

Mr. Sherlock Holmes was a renowned mystery solver who solved numerous mysteries on different topics over time. For his wisdom and intelligence people from different sectors come to him for solving troubles as they can believe him firmly.

  • Mr. Jabez Wilson :

Mr. Jabez Wilson was a pawn-broker who came to Sherlock holmes with a mystery related to a newspaper advertisement about red-headed league. He has his own business and Vincent Spaulding was his assistant whom he believed blindly. His assistant insisted him to go for the job interview in red-headed league. Mr. Wilson worked in the red-heaed league for about eight weeks with the wage of four pounds for a week. But soon after he found the company got closed and having false name and position.

  • Vincent Spaulding :

Vincent Spaulding was the reliable assistant of Mr. Wilson whom he trusted for everything. Spaulding took Mr. Wilson to the red-headed league for interview and assured him that he would manage business work in his absence. Not only that he even used to work in Mr. Wilson’s company for half of the wages. He left work whenever he wished for and went to the cellar for developing photography as photography was his hobby.

  • Mr. Ezekiah Hopkins :

Mr. Ezekiah Hopkins was an American millionaire who founded the famous red-headed league in the fleet street. He wished to work for the red-headed people and help them in many ways.

  • Mr. Duncan Ross :

Mr. Duncan Ross was the representative of the red-headed league who took interview of Mr. Wilson when he went for the job offer. He selected mr. Wilson for the job position of working for the encyclopedia Britannica with four pounds in a week wage. He used to follow the work of Mr. Wilson and came multiple times to check over him. After finishing a day’s work he greeted Mr. Wilson good day and locked the door of the office.

Question no – (2) 

Answer :  

Mr. Wilson’s story :

Spaulding to Wilson : will you take me as your assistant? I’ll work for half of the wages.

Spaulding : Sir, there’s no work here. I’ll go down to the cellar to develop my photos.

Spaulding to Wilson : Sir, look at the ad. It is for red-headed people.

Spaulding : don’t worry Sir. Please let’s go to attend the job interview of thee red-headed league in Fleet Street.

Spaulding to Wilson : I will look after the business during your absence. You take the job opportunity happily and start working.

Spaulding to Wilson : you worked hard to get four pounds in a week. Concentrate on your job sir. I will see everything else.

Spaulding : you left the work and found the company fake. I don’t have any information about it sir. I just found the job advertisement in newspaper and went to you for grabbing the opportunity.

Part II : What happened next – Dr. Watson’s Account 

Question no – (1) 

Answer : 

Ross closes the office of the ‘Red-headed League’.

Holmes visits the area around Mr. Wilson’s shop.

Holmes and others go to the bank.

The bank received a lot of gold from the bank of France.

Clay digs a tunnel.

Clay and Ross enter the cellar to steal the gold.

Holmes catches the criminal Clay.

Question no – (2) 

Answer : 

Adverbs : Frankly, silently, carefully, finally, quickly, suddenly, beautifully.

Adjectives : Frank, silent, careful, final, quick, sudden, beautiful.

Question no – (3) 

Answer : 

Once we went for a picnic from our school to a village far away from the city area. Students of class seven to ten attended the picnic so senior students and teachers and students were also with us. We were so excited that day to have Mr. Santu the famous detective person of our school in our journey. He was a senior student who loves to travel new places and explore different things. After that picnic, while we were returning home a strange incident happened on the way. Some wood logs were kept on the middle of the road so that big vehicles have to stop there. Mr. Santu was sure about the chances of robbery while he found this incident. So, he quickly ordered to put off the lights of the bus and advised us to keep quite. He then informed the police quickly from his phone and decided to handle the matter till then. When the group of robbers came near the bus he told them a magnificent story about us that we were coming in the next bus and that bus was only for carrying luggage. Till then police came on the spot and arrested the group of robbers with many valuable things and cash money. The police officer thanked our senior student and told us to reach home safely. It was such a horror and mysterious experience for all of us.

Question no – (4) 

Answer : 

One day our full family went for a marriage ceremony in a place of far distance. When all returned late at night they listened some people were talking inside the house about stealing things. My father informed the police immediately and got ready with their available weapons for attacking. With the help of police all members entered the hall of or house silently to catch the thief red-handedly. But we all were surprised to see that nobody was there and a detective serial was going on in television. We all confirmed that the sound was coming from the TV and my aunt accepted that she forgot to switch off the TV while electricity was gone. So the TV was switched on from the time electricity came again. The police also laughed with us after revealing the fact behind coming the sound.
