(a) How does the poet glorify his home in the first stanza?
Answer :
The poet glorifies his home in the first stanza because he travelled mid pleasures and palaces but did not find the peace like home there. He can feel that a charm from the sky hallow him in his home which is possible nowhere.
(b) How does the poet describe his home in the second stanza?
Answer :
The poet describes his home in the second stanza like an exile comes from home and splendour dazzles in vain. The birds are singing merrily outside which gives peace in the poet’s mind.
(c) What makes the poet remember his mother?
Answer :
The poet’s mother’s gentle touch and caress soothes his mind which reminds him through the pleasures within his sweet home.
(d) What does the poet miss?
Answer :
The poet misses his mother’s love, his father’s smile and all the homely pleasures while he lives away from home.
(e) What does the poet hope for?
Answer :
The poet hopes that when he will return to his homeland he will get that care. Love, humbleness, pleasures in home.
(f) In which professions is a person forced to stay away from his home/ homeland for a long time? Try to guess why the poet is forced to stay away from his home?
Answer :
A person is forced to stay away from his home or homeland in professions like battalion of defense, army personnel etc.
The poet is also away from his home for being an army personnel as he has duty to keep his homeland secure from the enemies.

Write out a few things that you would really miss about your home if you were to stay away from it for long.
Answer :
If I have to live away from home someday I would miss several things very much. At first, I would miss mother’s love and care, father’s smile and guidance and enjoyment with sister. I would also miss the great food made by my mother. I would miss the peace and happiness I feel while I live with my family in our house.
