Welcome to NCTB Solutions. Here with this post we are going to help 7th class students to solve MathSight Class 7 Mathematics Book, Chapter 9, Lines and Angles. Here students can easily get all the exercise questions solution for Chapter 9, Lines and Angles Exercise 9.1 and 9.2

Lines and Angles Exercise 9.1 Solution :

Question no – (1)

Solution :

(a) Not adjacent, because they have not common vertex.

(b) Yes, it have common vertex.

(c) Not, adjacent, they have not common vertex.

(d) Yes, due to common vertex they are adjacent.

Question no – (2)

Solution :

(a) 43 + 56

= 99°

∴ Not complementary

(b) 47 + 43

= 90°

∴ It is complementary

(c) 120° + 60

= 180°

∴ not complementary

(d) 45° + 45°

= 90°

∴ It is complementary

(e) 72° + 18°

= 90°

∴ It is complementary

Question no – (3)

Solution :

(a) 56° + 34°

= 90°

∴ not supplementary

(b) 160° + 20°

= 180°

∴ It is supplementary

(c) 90° + 90°

= 180°

∴ Supplementary

(d) 110° + 70°

= 180°

∴ It is supplementary

(e) 155° + 35°

= 190°

∴ not supplementary

Question no – (4)

Solution :

(a) 56 + 34

= 90°

∴ They are complement of it self

(b) 160° + 20°

= 180°

∴ They are supplement of it self

Question no – (5)

Solution :

(a) 90° –  54°

= 46°

(b) 90° – 42

= 48°

(c) 90° – 21°

= 69°

(d) 90° – 27°

= 63

(e) 90° – 70°

= 20°

Question no – (6)

Solution :

(a) 180° – 128°

= 52°

(b) 180° – 24°

= 156°

(c) 180° – 118°

= 62°

(d) 180° – 92°

= 88°

(e) 180° – 136°

= 44°

Question no – (7)

Solution :

(a) x = 80°

(b) x = 180° – 127°

= 63°

(c) x = 90° – 60°

= 30°

(d) x = 180° – (15° + 48)

= 180° – 63°

= 117°

(e) 2x + 40° + x + 50° = 180°

Or, 3x° + 90° = 180°

Or, 3x° = 180 – 90 = 90°

Or, x° = 20°/3 = 30°

(f) x + 24° + x = 180°

Or, 2x = 180° – 24° = 156°

Or, x = 156°/2 = 78°

Question no – (8)

Solution :

So, the other angle will be the Obtuse angle.

Question no – (9)

Solution :

The other angle will be the Right angle.

Question no – (10)

Solution :

The other angle will be A cute angle.

Question no – (11)

Solution :

When two angle are supplementary then Their sum should be 180°. So, deduct from 180° we get another angle.

Question no – (12)

Solution :

(a) 1/2 × 20° = 45°

(b) 1/3 × 180° = 60°

(c) 2/5 × 360° = 144°

Lines and Angles Exercise 9.2 Solution :

Question no – (1)

Solution :

(a) Measure of ∠2 ⇒ ∠1, ∠3, ∠5

(b) Measure of ∠3 ⇒ ∠8, ∠2, ∠6

(c) Measure of ∠6 ⇒ ∠3, ∠5, ∠1

(d) Measure of ∠5 ⇒ ∠2, ∠8, ∠1

Question no – (2)

Solution :

(a) ∠UTR, ∠XWT

(b) ∠RTU, ∠UWX

(c) ∠STW, ∠VWT

(d) ∠RTS, ∠YWX

(e) ∠RTU, ∠TWX

Question no – (3)

Solution :

(a) ∠PQR

(b) ∠QRP

(c) ∠PRS

(d) ∠QRS

(e) ∠PRS

(f) ∠PQS

Question no – (4)

Solution :

X = 180° – 40° = 140°

X = y = 140°

Z = 40°

Question no – (5)

Solution :

∠ABC = ∠DEF

= 65°

Question no – (6)

Solution :

(a) x = 180° – 105°

= 75°

X = y

= 75°

Z = 105°

(b) x = 180° – 75°

= 105°

X = z

= 105°

Y = 75°

(c) x = 180° – 110° = 70°

y = 180° – 70° = 110°

z = y = 110°

Question no – (7)

Solution :

x = 110°

z = 110°

y = 180° – 110°

= 70°

Question no – (8)

Solution :

∠1 and ∠2 are corresponding angle.

∴ ∠1 = ∠2

= 38°

∴ p || q

Question no – (9)

Solution :

y = z

= 110°

x = 180° – 110°

= 70°

Question no – (10)

Solution :

(i) corresponding angle 125° and 55° are not equal

∴ p and q are not parallel.

Question no – (11)

Solution :

X + h + 40° = 180°

Or, 2h + 40° = 180°

Or, 2h = 180° – 40° = 140°

Or, h = 140/2 = 70°

∴ x + 40

= 70 + 40° = 110°

Question no – (12)

Solution :

4h + x = 180°

Or, 5h = 180°

Or, h = 180°/5

∴ h = 36°

Question no – (13)
