Life on Earth Exercise question Solutions :

Question no – (1) 

Answer :  

(a) We require a microscope in order to see a unicellular organism.

(b) Protozoa are single-celled organisms that appeared first in water.

Question no – (2) 

Answer :  

(a) On the ground of scientific research, it is presently accepted that around 4.5 million years ago, an enormous cloud comprised of very hot gases and dust spinning at an immensely high speed was created in space. It was then splitted into several parts due to it’s circular motion and very high speed. This resulted in the creation of sun and planets in our solar system.

(b) Two characteristics of animals are – 

  • Animals move in order to find food and also for the sake of other purposes.
  • Animals also breathe which is essential for their survival.

Question no – (4) 

Answer :  

(a) An enormous cloud of hot gases and dust was created in space.

(b) The sun and the planets revolving around it were formed.

(c) Water bodies appeared on the earth’s surface.

(d) Protozoa appeared in water.
