(1) What is the median of the numbers 4, 6, 7, 9, 12?

Solution:-

Numbers 4, 6, 7, 9, 12

Median = (5+2/2)th tern

= 6/2

= 3rd

Therefore, median is (a) 7 (Answer)

(2) Which one of the numbers 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16 is the median?

Solution:-

8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16 is the median = (10+12/2)

= 22/2

= 11

(b) = 11 (Answer)

(3) Which one of the numbers 4, 5, 8, 6, 7, 12 is the mode?

Solution:-

Number are = 4, 5, 8, 6, 7, 12

Therefore, Mode = No mode value.

(4) Which one of the numbers 8, 12, 11, 12, 14, 18 is the mode?

Solution:-

Numbers are = 8, 12, 11, 12, 14, 18

Therefore, mode is = 12 (c)

(5) If the number of data is even, which of the following is median?

Solution:-

Median is — (a) The mean of two middle terms.

(6) What type of data are 48, 22, 28, 25, 15?

Solution:-

The type of data are 48, 22, 28, 25, 15 are – (a) Organised.

(7) Which of the following data are organised?

Solution:-

Data are organised – (c) 8, 6, 4, 2.

(8) Of data 6, 12, 22, 22, 16, 30, 36?

Solution:-

Data, 6, 12, 22,, 22, 26, 30, 36.

Mode = 22; Median = (7+1/2) th term= 4 th term.

Median = 22

(d) (i), (ii), (iii) are correct.

Answer questions 9-12 using the following information. The obtained results of 6 students out of 20 marks: 8, 10, 16, 14, 16, 20.

(9) What is the mode of the data?

Solution:-

Result of 6 students out of 20 marks:- 8, 10, 16, 14, 16, 20

Organized = 8, 10, 14, 16, 16, 20.

Mode of the data = (c) 16.

(10) What is the median?

Solution:-

Median = 16+14/2

= 30/2

(b) = 15

(11) What is the mean?

Solution:-

Mean of data = 8+ 10+ 14+ 16+ 16+ 20/

= 84/6

=(b) = 14

(12) The  actual information of the data is —-

Solution:-

Difference = (20-8) = 12

(iii) The lowest number score in the examination 20×40/100 = 8 marks

Therefore, (c) (ii), (iii) are correct.

 (14) The weight of Kalam is 50 kg the average weight of students of class VI is 50 kg. Which one of these two information is statistics?

Solution:-

The average weight of students of class vi is 50kg.

(16) Measure and present the weights of 15 students of your class and find the mean.

Solution:-

Weight of 15 students,

= 10, 12, 12, 10, 15, 15, 18, 20, 20, 25, 25, 22, 22, 28 (kg)

Therefore, mean = 214/15

= 14.27 kg.

(17) Find the median of the following data:

9, 12, 10, 6, 15, 8, 7, 14, 13

Solution:-

Median of the given data

= (9+1/2)th term          [In organized 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15]

= 5th term

Therefore, median is = 10 (Answer)

(18) Find the median of the following data:

1400, 2500, 1500, 700, 600, 900, 1050, 1100, 800, 1200.

Solution:-

Organizing data = 600, 700, 800, 900, 1050, 1100, 1200, 1400, 1500, 2500.

Therefore, median = (1050+100/2)

= 6th

Therefore, median is = 16

(19) Find the median of the data: 9, 16, 14, 22, 17, 20, 11, 7, 19, 12, 21,.

Solution:-

Ordained data = 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22

Therefore, median = (11+1/2)th

Therefore, median is = 16

(20) Find the median of the numbers 5, 7, 12, 10, 9, 19, 13, 15,16, 24, 21, 23, 25, 11, 14, 20.

Solution:-

Organizing data

= 5, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21, 23, 24, 25

Median = 14+15/= 14.5

Solution:-

The mode value is 8.
