A.) Choose a health problem from the box and write next to the appropriate picture. There are names of more problems in the box than are necessary.

A1. Work in pairs. Ask and answer the following questions.

.Have you had any of these or any other health problems recently? Which ones? or what?

Ans: No, I don’t have any health problems recently.

How many times had you been sick in the past year?

Ans: 4 times.

What do you do when you have a headache or a cold or a toothache?

Ans: I take medicines or consult to a doctor if it becomes worse.

Look at some health problems. Choose several pieces of good advice for each problem. There are more pieces of advice than problems.

Ans: 1.) a cough gurgle with warm and salt water and take some vitamin c

2.) a backache put a heating pad on it.

3.) a fever take some paracetamol and take enough rest

4.) a toothache see a dentist.

5.) a headache take enough rest and put it under cold water.

6.) a burn put some ointment on it and put it under cold water.

7.) the flu see a doctor.

Work in groups. Talk about the problems in section B and give advice. Try to give more than one piece advice for each problem. Follow the model shown.

B.) Oh! So sorry to hear that, so what would you do for that?

B.) Yes. You did great job.

 

4. A.) Hey! Any idea what we do for headache?

B.) Yes, take enough rest and also put it under cold water.

B.) You should apply some ointment and also put it under cold water.

E1. Answer the following questions.

1.) What do you mean by hygiene?

Ans: The rules and practices of keeping good health are called hygiene.

2.) What are essential for good health?

Ans: Proper food and nutrition, physical exercise, rest and sleep, cleanliness, and proper medicare are essential for good health.

3.) What do we mean by balanced diet?

Ans: The food should contain correct portion of carbohydrates, fat, protein, vitamins, minerals and water in it.

4.)  What are the rules of personal hygiene?

Ans: wash your hand before eating, bath regularly and wear clean clothes, brush your teeth twice regularly, do not let your nails grow long. Cut them regularly, wash your feet and hands before going to bed.

F3. Now write about what you usually do or would like to do to keep yourself fit.

Ans: My regular routine is fixed I woke up at 6’o clock early in the morning then drink 2 glasses of warm water than 1 hour exercise after that I eat my breakfast bread and omelet and I also play football, cricket and basketball to stay healthy and fit.

G. Write a short paragraph on the rules of good health.

Ans: As we know that health is wealth so in our live we have to stay fit and healthy because healthy person live more than compare to unhealthy person. The rule of good health is very easy first you have to careful towards your personal hygiene like wash your hand before eating, bath daily, wear neat and clean cloth, brush your teeth twice regularly, so not grow your nails long and wash your feet and hand before going to bed. Also do daily exercise and eat healthy food and try to avoid junk food try to maintain your balanced diet and drink 5 liters of water regularly because people is good health are active, cheerful and happy.
