(k) (-102) ÷ (-17)

=  -102/- 17

=  + 6

(l) (+112) ÷ (-16)

= +112/-16

=  -7

Integers Exercise 1.4 Solution :

Question no – (1)

Solution :

(a) (-9) + (5) = (5) + (-9)

(b) (-25) + 25 =  0

(c) 12 – (-12) k= 24

(d) (-3) + (-15) = (-15) + (-3)

(e) (-54) – (-21) = (-33)

(f) (-255) ÷ 0 is not defined

(g) (-21) ÷ 1 = -21

(h) 0  ÷ (-98) =  0

Question no – (2)

Solution :

(a) (-1) × (-2) × (-3) × (-4) × (-5)

=  – 120

(b) (-1) × (-5) × (-4) × (-6)

= 120

(d) (-9) × 5 × (-1) × 1

=  45

Question no – (3)

Solution :

Sum, = (-1878 + 878)

=  – 1000

Now, = (2000) – (-1000)

=  2000  + 1000

=  3000

Question no – (4)

Solution :

= a × (-2) =  -30

=  a =  -30/-2

=  15

Question no – (5)

Solution :

The product of two integers is -51

One integer is -17

Other integer,

= -51/-17

=  3

Therefore, other integer is 3.

Integers Exercise 1.5 Solution :

Question no – (1)

Solution :

= a (b + c) =  (a × b) + (a × c)

=  -2 (5 + (-3) )

= (-2 × 5) + (-2 × (-3)

= – 10 + 6

=  – 4

Now,

= -2 (5 + (3-3)

=  -2 (5 – 3)

=  – 2 × 2

=  -4

= 7 (-9 + (-11)

=  7 (-9 – 11)

=  7 × (-20)

=  – 140

Now,

= 7 × (-9) + (7 × (-11))

=  – 63 – 77

=  – 140

Question no – (2)

Solution :

(a) 12 ÷ [(13) + (-13)]

=  12 ÷ [ 13 – 13 ]

=  12 ÷ 0

=  Not defined

(b) [(56) ÷ (-2) ÷ (-4)

=  – 28 ÷ (-4)

=  7

(c) [(-100) + (60)] ÷ [(29) – (9)]

=  – 40 ÷  20

=  – 2

(d) (-6) ÷ [(36) ÷ (-12)]

= – 6 ÷ (-3)

= 2

Integers Exercise 1.6 Solution :

Question no – (1)

Solution :

Closing Balance :
10, 000.00
7500
11000
6000
6120

Balance amount =  Rs 6120

Question no – (2)

Solution :

Short in distance,

=  (9 – 7) m

=  2 m

Question no – (3)

Solution :

The Score will be

=  70 × (2) + 30 × (-1)

=  140 – 30

=  110

Hence, the score is 110

Question no – (4)

Solution :

Position,

=  (30 × 45) ft

=  1350 ft

Actual Position,

=  (4000 – 1350) ft

=  2650 ft. below the sea level.
