(a) Issues in civic life :

In our civic life we experience several problems. These problems leads to inconvenience. Due to these problems, our life is sometimes subjected to disorderliness. These problems becomes worse if we try to overlook them. So it is always essential to find a solution to the particular problem. The problems encountered by people in cities and villages can be termed problems or issues in civic life.

(b) Solution of the problems in civic life :

It is always necessary to specify such problems. It is not possible for a single person to solve such problems. The problems in civic life can be solved through collective efforts and co-operation of everyone.

(c) The great personalities that stressed the importance of cleanliness : 

Sant Gadgebaba and Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj are the two great characters who emphasized the importance of cleanliness. Sant Gadgebaba used kirtans in order to emphasize the significance of village cleanliness. He informed people that without cleanliness, education and self-reliance, it would be impossible for us to advance towards the path of progress. Through his own activities, he showed people how to keep the village clean. Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj illustrated the significance of cleanliness with the help of his ‘Gram Geeta’.

Answer :  

(a) The concept of cleaning the village through ‘Shramdaan’ : 

In Osmanabad district, the villagers of Khudawadi village cleaned their village through ‘shramdaan’ which means voluntary contribution of labour. They assured that everyone should work collectively and provide assistance in cleaning the village. Firstly, it was the sewage water that was dealt with. In order to make manure, the garbage was used by opting vermiculture method and a toilet was made in every house.

(b) Suitable environment for peace be created : 

A suitable environment for peace can be created by fulfilling the basic necessities of all the sections of the society. Each member of the society should be provided with the requisite security. There must be no exploitation in society. Inequality must be reduced and everyone should possess the right to participate in the public domain of life. By gaining knowledge about the importance of peace and by participating in peaceful process, a peaceful environment can be created in our family, school and community.

Question no – (4) 

Answer :  

(a) The class leader wishes to maintain quiet in the classroom

= In this situation, I will try to maintain silence and obey the orders of my class leader. Loud or dissonant sound can disrupt the teaching activities in the adjacent classes. When the teacher is not present in the class, the class leader bears the assigned responsibility to maintain silence in the classroom. So, I will request my classmates to show co-operation with the class leader in order to maintain quietness in the classroom.

(b) For some unavoidable reason, the maths teacher is unable to attend class today

= Instead of wasting the time, I will start revising the chapter that was taught by our math’s teacher the previous day and I will also try to find the solution of the given sum. It is worthless to misuse the time by chatting and talking loudly when the teacher is not present in the class. I will also try to maintain silence and follow the commands of my class monitor.

(c) During a match, a dispute has arisen between the two teams on the playground

= I will try to solve the dispute by speaking to the captains of the two teams on the playground, by adopting a peaceful means of discussion. I will suggest them to take advice from our sports teacher who is well equipped with the rules and regulations of the game and can effectively solve the problem.
